Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Iowa

fired without just cause

my fellow worker called me and told me that i had been fired. i was told to call the boss, whick i did. he said that i was not to go to work, that i had been fired. i asked him why, he would not tell me the reason, just said that there had been too many complaint, but that i was a good worker. i asked him by whom, and he said that he couldn't tell me. Did he have the right to tell my fellow worker that i had been fired before i even knew? he also wanted her to tell me. This has happened to other people who have worked at this place of business.

Re: fired without just cause

His method of getting the information to you that you were terminated was extremely bad PR, but not illegal.

In a right-to-work state employment is at the pleasure of the employer, who can fire for any reason or no reason at all, absent an employment contract or union agreement to the contrary.
