Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Iowa
Can I hold a prison responsible for an inmate being "allowed" to continue to victimize people from the controlled environment that is supposed to protect the community from them? There is more than one victim involved and communication is monitored so the prison was fully aware of the lies, manipulation, coercion and emotional/mental abuse. I feel completely unprotected and victimized. I spent every weekend in a visiting room for over a year and am horrified, humiliated and shocked at the conduct deemed acceptable. Women are being manipulated and controlled and it needs to stop. It's caused alot of damage mentally and emotionally to many people. I thank God that I was finally able to recognize it, but alot of damage has been done. I I'm asking about holding the person responsible rather than just the inmate because so so many of them do it. I have done a lot of research into this over the last week and learned that there is a law concerning emotional abuse so they are continuously breaking this law from incarceration where it is being monitored and still allowed. Please let me know what can be done. Thank you
