Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Iowa

Libel suit

My name was mentioned twice in a national magazine and it is a one sided story that has false information about me and in the article it deframates my character. The magazine doesn't have a clue what is the truth because it went by one persons opionion...which is by a US Attorney. I am very upset over this because I have put that part of my life behind me and it gets all dragged back up again and my name is plastered not only on a national magazine but it has sparked alot of publicity in my home town. My question is do I have any rights to file a lawsuit against the magazine or would it be the person that gave the magazine the false information?

Re: Libel suit

Libek is difficult to prove particularly when the issue is something that was printed. Truth is an absolute defense.

Litigation is likely to be expensive and you will probably not get anyone to take this on a contingency basis.
