Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Iowa
Mental health interviews by law officers
Are law enforcement officers required to meet with a suspect that has mental health issues with a mental health advocate, and are they allowed to interview a suspect that has mental health issues at the police department or are they required to meet with the individual at the mental health unit upon that person's request?

I do not see where there is any requirement to do any interfacing with mental health people-certainly not a great idea but not a get out of jail free card.
