Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Iowa
Teenage boy given given beer and then raped by older woman
15 years ago a 22 or 23 year old woman gave a 17 year old boy beer to get him drunk so she could have sex with him so she could get pregnant. Now the state has made him responsible as the father of this child and requires him to provide child support and medical coverage while the mother of the child never works. She has always lived off of ADC and child support and every two years she files for a review and adjustment so she can get more money. Meanwhile this man has had 2 other children during marriage and he only gets $213.00 a month credit for both while he pays her $454.00 a month for one child. His other 2 children are on medicaid and he has a small claims court action against him for medical bills, as well as collection agencies. He is not behind and has never been behind in his support but it doesn't seem right that this woman is legally able to frame him the way she has just because she is a girl and he is a boy. When the tables are turned the men are prosecuted and the states even pays to give abortions but did this man have a choice of abortion? Is there anything he can do? So far our laws have failed this man.

Did this guy ever pursue custody of the child? If not, is there any reason he does not pursue custody now?
