Legal Question in Construction Law in Iowa

I performed work per written contract in Iowa , (window glazing n trim painting)I am fully licensed and insured with all proper state approved training. I received 50% down with balance due apon completion , several times I try to get balance, with no reply ,finally I sent registered letter requesting final payment. owner replied -that a few very small items is not right (a screen not installed ,a couple of missed spots ,= took less then 15 min. to complete) ,so I did changes to satisfy , owner stated there was a different problem that was not part of work performed or listed in contract or verbally discussed (gutter leaking =roof is crumbling missing shingles ,water going under shingles/gutters causing trim paint to peel ) repainted and patched roof ,requested payment again along with pictures to show owner where problem is , now wont reply or pay or meet at project to confirm work is complete , what are my options? can I sue thru small claims/ put a lien on property etc, is there time restrictions?

You can file a mechanic's lien and also sue in small claims court.
