Legal Question in Consumer Law in Iowa
Gym Membership Refund
I just found out that my old gym has been charging my credit card for the last 15 months. The problem is that I canceled my membership 15 months ago. I asked for a refund but I found out that the ownership has changed in the last 4 months. The new owner agreed to refund the last 4 months. My question is: who is responsible to refund what I paid for the period before the change of ownership (about 11 months)? I live in Iowa.
Thanks

Re: Gym Membership Refund
Your best bet is to go to the CC company and dispute the charges. They will remove charges and start and investigation. Likely the old gym will not respond and they will stay off. How much is at stake?
A letter from an atty can do the trick as well.
