Legal Question in Consumer Law in Iowa

Price gouging

My daughter purchased a used car from one of those buy here pay here places because they required no credit check.

About a month after purchase she totaled it. We had full coverage insurance on it. According to the insurance company, comparative market value is $2850.50. Purchase price on the vehicle was $4895.00. Is there any legal way to prove that the price of the vehicle was highly inflated and that they are taking advantage of people in a difficult situation?

Re: Price gouging

Did she get a valuation or comparison shop before she bought it?

Did she pay on installments? How much down?
