Legal Question in Consumer Law in Iowa
small claims
I was served with a paper the other day, not really knowing anything about the claim...the name on the ''account '' (this was a vet bill that was not mine to begin with) was my first name but not my last name...the name of the other party on the notice or ''account'' first name was correct but last name was spelled wrong....my question is since i didnt have anything to do with the bill in question but they thnk i do (as i said they dont even have the correct last name i only hualed the dog to the vet) am i liable or not and if the name on the served paper of the other person listed is spelled wrong does it hold water.

Re: small claims
A misspelled name is not going to get you out of a court case. If you ignore this, a judgment may be entered against you.
