What is the legal responsibilityof a used car dealer for selling a car will illegally tinted windows. I bought the car 2 months ago. I got a ticket today for illegal tinted windows. I want to ask them to remove the tint at no charge to me because it was sold to be with illegal equipment in the state of Iowa. I commented on the darkness of the windows when I first looked at it. The young sellsman said they were great. People love them. But he did not talk about how legal the % tint was.

I would think that if the seller sold you the vehicle with illegal equipment they should be willing to remove it without charge to you. Otherwise, I'd suggest you call the attorney general's office and make a consumer complaint.
