does a store have to take a product back for any reason in Iowa with the 30 day return policy

Generally, there is no requirement that retailers accept returns of purchased merchandise at all. With the goal of customer satisfaction, most retailers do have some sort of return policy, which leads many people to believe that these retailers are required to do so. Without reviewing this particular retailer's policy, there is no way to answer your question. Even if they have a return policy, there are likely exceptions and requirements, for example no returns on books or DVDs, merchandise must be in good condition, etc.
