Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Iowa

I am 16 and a cable company allowed me to get a account with them. But since i am a minor how am i legally obligated to pay them anything.

You're right-you're not competent to contract except for the necessities of life. But the problem is, that's in the nature of a defense and it won't stop them from suing you.
