Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Iowa

i bought a car from my boyfriends mom we had an contract agreement of 300 dollars a month they broke the contract by not taking the car back or asking for any payment for 7 months it does not work. We broke up and now she is trying to take me to court i dont want the vehicle just want to get rid of it and dont want to go to court. what should i do what are my opptions?
