Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Iowa
my boyfriend was in prison and gave me power of attorney to aquire and use credit cards in his name most of which payed his debts i ran into financial difficulty and the cards ran into default he now threatens to charge me with fraud can he do this

Only the county attorney can charge you with a criminal offense. He might try to sue you in civil court, but just show the power of attorney and documentation regarding use of the funds. If he actually sues you, and he can show that you used his credit for your own personal benefit, you may be required to repay that money.
