Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Iowa

Car Loan

A car loan company has been calling an individuals neighbors trying to get ahold of him. He DID NOT give the loan company these peoples information as an emergency contact or as a contact at all. Is it illegal for the loan company to call his neighbors home and ask for them to relay a message to him? Thank you!

Depends on what is said. If they say:

"He owes us money and is a deadbeat" they are acting in violation of state and Federal law.
