Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Iowa

Credit Card Company Suing Me!!!

I recieved a packet of papers today delivered by a Deputy saying a credit card company is suing me. It just says that a petition has been filed with the court here in Scott County Iowa. It says i must serve a motion within 20 days. What am i supposed to do I have no clue. Please somebody help.

You will have to file an answer with the clerk of court. There usually is an answer form attached to the documents you received. If not, you might try going to the clerk's office and telling them you want to file an answer. A hearing will be scheduled. Make sure you are there ON TIME, otherwise a default judgment may be entered against you.
