Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Iowa

credit card debt

I was just served papers for a very past due credit card debt. I did not respond in the alloted time. what does this mean to me? The debt is around 8000 it started out around 4000.

It probably means a default judgment was entered against you. You may be able to get the judgment set aside IF you can provide the Court with a good explanation of why you failed to respond.
