Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Iowa

Debt Collection

I have a debt with a payday company. I was on the phone with the collection department setting up payment arrangments and he asked for me to verify my address. Somehow he had an old address from 5 yrs ago. I asked him where he got that address and he said I must have given it to them. I know I didnt since the residence of that home I do not get along with and do not want them recving my mail with out me giving them that address. Another lady told me it was changed when they pulled the credit breau which I do not believe they have right to do. I am very upset about this. Is what they did legal? I gave them the correct address but they pulled my credit and took the other address without my knowledge. Is this right or would I have a case against them?

Re: Debt Collection

Sorry, not a case.

They pulled your credit report pursuant to lawful collection activities to get location information and they are allowed to do that.
