filing a motion for response to suit

What information do I need to have when I go to the court house to file a motion in response to suit filed against me on a 12 year old credit card?

Re: filing a motion for response to suit

This relates to a question you posted earlier, but the real question is, did the company actually file a lawsuit.

There are certain "distressed debt" collectors that go after very old debts by telling people they've been sued when they have not been sued.

You need your name, and the name of the creditor. Call the clerk, and ask the clerk to see if a lawsuit has been filed against you.

You should also Google the name of the collection agency. Many of these guys have consumer alerts filed on them, and there names are all over the internet. Check them out.

Good luck
