Can a hospital demand 10% of your bill for a monthly payment? We are paying them $200.00 a month now.

Sure they can. And you can refuse. And they can sue you. And you could win, and they get nothing if they cannot prove their case. Or they could win. And you could file bankruptcy and they still get nothing. Bottom line, in my opinion, they should be happy that you are paying every month as you are, but not all creditors use common sense. You might try calling someone at the hospital to try to work something out with them. And if that fails, depending on how much you owe, you might consider contacting a bankruptcy attorney in your area to discuss your situation.
