Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Iowa

I suppose there is an argument that since you are not the original creditor, this might be construed as a violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. However, rather than worry about whether or not it is legal, what good do you think it would do? It is not proper notice for purposes of evicting the tenants, so it is fairly well useless. My guess is, the tenants already know they are PAST DUE, so this friendly reminder will be about as informative as telling them the sun rises in the east.
