Is it legal for a law office to send a letter, unsigned, speaking for a client, not reviewed by an attorney to someone about an alleged debt?

I cannot fathom how you would know that the letter was not reviewed by an attorney. There is no requirement that a collection letter be signed, however, if the attorney was attempting to collect the debt of someone else, the letter would need to comply with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
