What is the legal terminology when you want the creditor to prove you owe the bill or any part of a bill?

You have to request verification within 30 days of getting a notice of collection under FDCPA. Of course if they sue you, you can file for discovery and chances are pretty good they won't be able to prove it up as FDCPA requires, especially if it is a secondary outfit-one that buys up bad debts and then tries to collect them.
