Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Iowa
My parents were served with papers from a law office on behalf of LVNV Funding for a Chase Credit card. I dont think the 5 yr statute of limitations is up yet,(will be in few months) but all that was attached that the sheriff severed was several statements. Ive researched some info online about the collection company & it looks like what i can tell they needed to have original contract/application attached. Is that true in Iowa. Also if accounts were applied for online what kind of "contract" would chase actually have since nothing was actually physically signed?

I think you may need to talk to an attorney who handles debtor side litigation. As it happens more facts are needed to make a determination on what it is they say that your parents owe. If all that has been served is notice of a lawsuit they don't have to have a copy of the contract attached.
