Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Iowa

here is the question and answer ..... still I do not have a answer, I use my friends address for mailing because I do NOT have a place to live, I am currently just staying with friends, somewhere different every night, so this is the reason that I was asking my question...thank you

I use my friends address for billing and the electric company to trying to add my old bill to his?? that cannot possible be legal, I currently am just staying with my friends and so do not have a address this is the reason that I use his address for mail!

You seem to have the answer already. It sounds like you're trying to avoid having an account that the electric company can collect on. Otherwise, if you're merely staying with a friend, why would you need a mailing address different from your own for a utility account?

You don't have to sell this story to me, you have to sell it to your electric company.

If they don't buy it, you have your answer. Apparently they're trying to make your friend pay your bill.

If you owe money to the utility you're obliged to pay it. If anyone's got a problem here it's your friend. Maybe you and your friend should go see the electric company and try and convince them.
