Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Iowa

My significant other and I purchased a vehichle together with both names on the title and loan. Since this we have split up and he is remarried. What measures do i need to take to remove my name from the loan and title to the vehichle?

You'll have to get him to assume the loan and the title to the vehicle by buying you out. That's what joint ownership is-it is considered that you both own the vehicle and the loan, and if he defaults they can come after you.
