Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Iowa

written aggrement

We have a written agreement with a party, for them to complete a cabinet project for us, and because it took 10 months to get it finally done, they agreed not to seek further payment than the 2500.00 we already gave them. Now they are taking me to small claims court to try to collect the remaining balance. Can they do that, seeing how we all signed this agreement? ANd it was the final agreement over this 10 month period?

Re: written aggrement

If you have a written agreement specifying the terms you stated, just take that with you to your trial and you should be fine. If you have any questions regarding the enforceability of the agreement, you will need to have an attorney review it for you.
