Legal Question in Criminal Law in Iowa
In 2009, I was very lucky and won a cumulative amount of approximately $31,000 in Las Vegas, a few thousand here and there on some games, and some on sports. I stupidly never declared any of this one my income tax. 2009 tax IRS deadlines have come and gone, but No one in LV asked me for my SS# or name. Am I on the hook for this, or should I just forget about filing and take my chances?
Thanks!

You should immediately consult with an attorney practicing in federal tax law.

I agree with Mr. Miler. You might want to file an amended return listing this additional income. Doing that before the feds come after will look a lot better than doing it after. But do consult with a tax attorney about how you should proceed.
