Legal Question in Criminal Law in Iowa

I have a 17 ye old daughter who was dating they broke up.and he went back to his ex.girlfriend.my daughter and some of her friends went to.skate park n they seen the ex boyfriend with his girlfriend and their friends.well my 17yr old daughter was.fighting the.girl and the ex boyfriend punched my daughter in the face threw.her n.the river n his.friend.pulled a knife on her she was.also told I know what u drive where u live and where u work.she doesnt want to press charges but as her mom I do can I press charges.on him without her

You do not have the option of pressing charges. The police and the county attorney do that. You can report the incident to police but with an uncooperative victim who was herself involved in the fight, the outcome would be in doubt.
