Legal Question in Criminal Law in Iowa
My 24-year-old son received a deferred judgment for a simple misdemeanor and was on unsupervised probation for 1 year. He was told that he could ask for an expungement if there were no other incidents. About 9 months after the probation was finished and no other incidents, he requested that the court expunge this from his record. He received notification that it was expunged, however, 3 months later, it's still appearing on the iowa courts online webpage. If it's still on the webpage, what good is the expungement? Thanks

You'll have to have your attorney file a motion to expunge the data on Iowa Courts Online but be advised that a record will still remain with the DCI, for reasons I've never understood.
