Legal Question in Criminal Law in Iowa
I am 18 years old and have no previous record. I was just caught shoplifting less than $3.00 at a local Wal-Mart. I was taken into a room and my information was taken by a security woman. After an apology, she offered to let me go with a warning. Unfortunately, I did not have my I.D. on me, so the police were called. Now I have a court date and am not sure what will happen. What should I do now?

That raises the question why you were not carrying your identification.
How would you write a check or charge something without it? Buy a beer or a pack of cigarettes?
I'd suggest when your court date comes up you apply for a court appointed attorney to represent you.
