Legal Question in Criminal Law in Iowa
Alford Plea
I am confused on the meaning of Alford Plea, and what rights does someone loose by accepting this even if they were not properly made aware of it's actual meaning with the courts

Re: Alford Plea
In an Alford plea the defendant does not admit guilt but acknowledges that if he or she were tried that they would be found guilty. The court then pronounces judgment of guilty.
See the case of NORTH CAROLINA v. ALFORD, 400 U.S. 25 (1970)
