Legal Question in Criminal Law in Iowa

i was arrested for driving while license suspended, i denied the officer permission to search but he did it any ways. he unlocked my glove box and he found drug paraphernalia, i was charged with a third offense drug charge and in the paper work it shows a felony case stating its a drug charge but its not.its theft, the dates are wrong and i was in prison on both dates he provided for my previous drug charges. this makes no sense. i had a 5000 bond and i posted bail but im just confused how they could charge me third offense for drugs and have a case number for theft second tow times. can someone tell me what i should do because this entire situation has me confused
