Legal Question in Criminal Law in Iowa
I was arrested Friday evening when I walked out my back door and walked around to the front of my apartment building to get my mail...charge of Public Intoxication in a privated driveway. Do i have grounds to fight this?

It depends. You should consult with an attorney to properly review the public/private layout of your residence, but you may have entered a "public" area even though you remained on "private" ground in your apartment complex.

I agree with Brother Miler, only I am not as sanguine about finding a private area unless you were inside the building behind a locked door.
