Legal Question in Criminal Law in Iowa
Serious Assualt
How do I ask a judge to suspend my sentencing if it comes to a sentencing, if the charges are filed against me. I have never been in trouble before and this one night things got outta hand.

Re: Serious Assualt
If you are eligible for a suspended sentence or perhaps a deferred judgment, this is a request to be made at the time of sentencing. An attorney can help you prepare and present evidence to strengthen your request to avoid jail and prison. Some assault charges require a prison sentence and are not eligible for a suspended sentence.
