Legal Question in Criminal Law in Iowa
Car Search Legalities
Can the police search your car after they already have you in custody and they have already driven your car to the police station? This happened to me and I did not agree to the search but they did it anyway-just wondering if this is legal?

Inventory search
This type of search is sometimes referred to as an inventory search and is done, according to the police, to protect you from theft and to protect the police from later claims of theft. Not all states recognize this type of search as valid. Please consult with a local attorney who is familiar with the law of your state regarding searhc and seizure. Good Luck.
