There is no such thing in Iowa as a Class C misdemeanor. There are three levels of misdemeanors (aggravated, serious, simple). There are four levels of felonies (A,B,C,D).

And, there's very little in the way of expungement in the state of Iowa either. For all intents and purposes it's with you for a lifetime, unless it is a minor in possession of alcohol charge.
