Legal Question in Criminal Law in Iowa
Where to contact?
About 2 years ago my car was broken into and I received paperwork stating that the guilty party had to pay me but I have yet to receive any money in the settlement. I was never required to go to court. I called the phone number from the paperwork but they said they no longer handled the matter but couldnt tell me where to contact next. It was a decent sum of money I should have gotten so I was just wondering what course of action I could take.

Re: Where to contact?
I'm not entirely sure where you are in the process because you've not told me who you were to contact who hasn't done their job. I can tell you that if a person is court ordered to make restitution and has failed it is considered to be contempt of court and they can be served with a contempt citation by the county attorney...except you have to get them to do it.
