Legal Question in Criminal Law in Iowa
A couple weeks ago the police came to my house claming to have a warrent. My husband and I both asked multiple times to see the warrent. They just said, dont worry about it. Needless to say we were very worried. They came in anyway after being told many times to get out. They kept me my husband and children on the porch(my son in only shorts) for 3 hours. My main question is do they have to produce the warrent before wrecking my house? Also they shut the curtains and wouldnt even allow me to go in my home, infact they shut the curtains. I repeatidly asked what was going on and again got "dont worry about it" How do I know they didnt plant something? They claim to have found marrijuana in my home? They also broke tons of stuff.Light bulbs and other things?? Seem wrong to me. They went in the bedroom and found very personal pictures of me, and some other personal items that they had no business touching. And they left theses items and the pictures out on top op the huge mess they made. Not to mention they cut the cords on my video survaliense so we couldnt see the raid? Why would they do this if they planned doing things the right way? Do I have a leg to stand on?

The question is whether they had a warrant or not. You need an attorney.
