Legal Question in Criminal Law in Iowa
Deferred Charge
In late january 2009 i was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia. I spent the night in jail and saw the judge the next morning. i entered a plea of guilty and was setenced the minimum with just fines. however my place of employment is telling me that i need to get a deferred judgment in order to stay employed. is it possible to still get a deferred judgement?

Re: Deferred Charge
You could file a motion to reconsider the sentence and give the reason you stated. Its then up to the judge, assuming you are otherwise eligible for a deferred judgment.
