Can domistic assult charges be amended after 8 years
If you had a domisitic assult convition 8 years ago for spitting on your ex-wife and becouse fedarel law say you can no longer own a gun can you get the convition amended?

Re: Can domistic assult charges be amended after 8 years
The law banning firearm possession by those convicted of domestic violence was not in effect 8 years ago. Also, one must be listed on the National Register in order to be a prohibited person, as not all domestic violence convictions result in the loss of the firearm right.
You are probably not affected by this law. Check with your local legal services office or your local bar association for further information.
