Legal Question in Criminal Law in Iowa
Why are some enticing away a aminor cases treated as state and some are treated as federal cases? And why are the punishments so severely different?

Almost all crimes classified as violations of the United States Code carry greater punishment than in state court. You would have to ask your Congress person why that is the case. There are various reasons why something is filed in federal versus state court, including use of a computer and the crossing of state lines.
