Legal Question in Criminal Law in Iowa
ethics violation
i was ticketed with disorderly conduct 5 days after the incident in which i called a man a name. i did nothting to try and fight or threaten the man. i plead not guilty & demanded a jury trial. at the pre trial the asst district atty said that if i didnt plead guilty to that he was going to add public intox and assault on top of it. which he did over a month after the original incident. i wasnt drunk & did not assault anyone. the man that i supposedly assaulted will testify on my behalf. i am innocent on all charges. did the asst district atty break any ethic codes by trying to strong arm me? i was executing my right to a jury trial then i was threatened.

Re: ethics violation
I think what you got told was that there were more potential charges in the incident and what was going to happen if you demanded a jury trial. The testimony of the arresting officer will be important.
