Legal Question in Criminal Law in Iowa
I filed criminal mischief charges against my husbands ex when she intentionally damaged my car. The same night I pressed charges against her she intentionally damaged her own vehicle and called the police to press identicle charges against my husband stating that he had done the damage in retaliation after she damaged my vehicle. I watched the entire event unfold and know for a fact the my husband never touched her vehicle. An angry neighbor of ours has since given the police a false statement indicating that they witnessed my husband damage her vehicle, so he now has 3rd degree criminal mischief charges agaisnt him also. What can be done to dismiss these charges and avoid him being wrongfully convicted?

Your husband can plead not guilty and take his chances with a jury. That's what I'd do.
