Legal Question in Criminal Law in Iowa

i was fired from work today. i was on workmans comp for the past 3-4 weeks. i was making about 1300 dollars every two weeks. when on workmans comp i was making 4-500 dollars every two weeks. my truck broke down and i called my company on a weekend and stated that i was probably not going to make it in on monday my truck was broke and i had no funds to fix it. they said fix it and be here on monday or look for another job. i had a company credit card with my name on it and i used it to get the parts that i needed it was around 500 dollars. i fixed my truck on a saturday and lost the card on a sunday. monday i reported it to the office. i did not tell them that i used it to fix the truck because i did not have authorizeation. they found out today and fired me and are now talking with law enforcement officaial. what can i expect and what can i do to settle this with out legal confontation

What can you expect? At best they'll want you to pay it back. At worst they'll have the county attorney charge you with theft. How you work that out is up to you and your former employer. I would be proactive about trying to get them to settle it.
