Legal Question in Criminal Law in Iowa
I own a home with my ex and it is no longer my primary residence but I go there daily to get my kids up and ready for school. One day I found evidence of a girl who had moved in. I removed her things from the home and took them to goodwill. She called the cops and gave a witness statement for theft. What am I facing for penalty??

Depends upon the value of the property. Regarding a theft charge, it can be anywhere from a Class C felony down to a simple misdemeanor under Chapter 714 of the Code of Iowa. There is also the potential of a burglary charge, a Class D felony, depending upon the right you had to be in the places you were to remove the property.
