Legal Question in Criminal Law in Iowa
Do I have any hope for a job?
In 1999 I was convicted of a felony possesion of a controlled substance and I am unable to find a career that will hire me. I am currently enrolled at college to obtain my associates degree in criminal justice only to find out that I am a convicted felon. I really enjoy the criminal justice field and really need a career as soon a spossible, but I don't want to flip hamburgers after I just spent $30,000. on a college education. I just want to know if there is any way to remove it or makew it look less offensive to future employers. Do I have any hope?

Unfortunately there is no provision for expunging an Iowa felony conviction. Your only remedy is to petition the governor for a pardon.
