Legal Question in Criminal Law in Iowa
legal matters and newspapers
Is their anyway to keep my personal legal matters out of the newspaper. I'm from a smaller town that writes about everything that happens at our local courthouse. I am having to plead guilty to 4th degree theft and would like to keep it out of the newspaper. (I didn't commit the crime but opted to plea guilty. Long story.)

Re: legal matters and newspapers
The short answer is no. If you are convicted of something it is public record and anyone may see it.
