Why is it against the law to lie to peace officer but they can lie to you without any repercussions?

Police officers do not have complete ability to lie in all situations without repurcussion. It depends upon the facts and circumstances of the particular situation. If you have questions about how the law applies to your particular situation, you should consult with an attorney.
