Legal Question in Criminal Law in Iowa

i had a misdemeanor that was expunged in iowa for a concealed weapon charge for having brass knuckles in my car will this charge make it so I am unable to purchase a gun? Or even illegal for me to own one?

It would depend on the level of misdemeanor involved. If it was an aggravated there is a conflict-some courts say anything with the potential of more than a year's imprisonment is a federal felony. Other courts say it's up to the states to decide.The record's unclear, but if it had a potential of less than a year's imprisonment, there was no domestic violence charge, and you are not otherwise barred by a previous conviction of felony or domestic assault you are probably OK.
